Co-ordinator: Mick Brown.

Liturgy includes the following ministries:

Altar servers:
Contact – Fr Phil Moor

Altar servers assist the priest at the altar and anyone who has received their First Holy Communion may serve

Banner group:
Contact – Christine Mossman

A small group produces wall hangings, which decorate our church, enhance our liturgy and highlight the liturgical seasons and special celebrations.

Music ministry:
Contact – Jill McNamee(Saturday 6pm Mass)
Contact – Mick Brown(Sunday 11am Mass)

The main function of our music ministry is to lead the congregation and encourage full participation of all in song. We have music groups who play at two of our three weekend Masses. We welcome anyone interested in joining, either musicians or singers. Young musicians of grade 3+ are welcome too.

Readers:
Contact – Claire Hetherington

The Ministry of Reader is to proclaim the Word of God. Since the Second Vatican Council, we have rediscovered the importance of the Word in nourishing our daily lives. The main requirement for this ministry is a desire to communicate the Word of God as clearly and effectively as possible; a spirit of prayer is essential, as well as a conscientious study of the passages to be read.

Sacristan:
Contact – Ann Brereton

The Sacristan looks after the Sacristy and ensures that everything is in order for the celebration of the Mass and all other liturgical celebrations, helping to ensure that altar linens are changed, and that there is always a sufficient supply of altar bread, wine, candles etc.  For weekday Masses the Sacristan prepares the Sanctuary and arranges for Readers and Eucharistic Ministers to minister at the Mass.

Special Masses and Services:

Mass for the Bereaved:
Contact Fr Phil Moor

This Mass takes place annually in November. The families and loved ones of those whose funerals took place during the previous twelve months will receive an invitation from Fr Phil but everyone in the parish is invited to come and light a candle of hope for a loved one who has died. The names of all those who have died since our last Mass for the Bereaved are collected and read out during the lighting of the candles.

Mass of Anointing:
Contact Fr Phil Moor

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in this service jointly with our neighbouring parish every Advent and Lent. Priests and parishioners come together for a time of reflection and individual celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Everyone is warmly invited to attend.

Stations of the Cross:
Stations of the Cross are followed every Friday evening during Lent. A different parish group leads each week and on Palm Sunday evening we invite our fellow Christians from other local churches to join us for an ecumenical reflection on the Stations of the Cross. There are also Children’s Stations of the Cross on Good Friday morning. Everyone is welcome to come and experience this form of devotion during Lent.
